Katy is an experienced project manager, with a particular focus on inclusive cultures and creative practice. At the age of 16, she obtained a full grant to attend Laine Theatre Arts on a professional three-year Musical Theatre programme, gaining a level 6 Professional Diploma, three, subject-specific dance teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, LAMDA qualifications and A ‘Level Theatre Studies. Since that time, she has gained additional teaching qualifications from the University of Portsmouth.

Performance credits

At 16, Katy was the All-England Senior Tap Champion. Upon graduation from theatre school, and after a short period in London working in fashion, she gained the role as ‘Mary’ in Andrew Lloyd Webbers ‘Sunset Boulevard’. Following work for The Really Useful Group, she went on to perform as a dancer in ‘Spirit of the Dance’ (USA Tour), was lead vocalist in ‘Magic of the Dance’ (European Tour) and a member of the Berlin Dizzy Tappers troupe. Other credits include ‘Vice Versa’ (Players Theatre, London), VE Day Royal Gala (Coliseum), Royal Variety Show (London Palladium), Grace in the musical ‘Annie’ (USA), Michael Jackson Concert in Korea and the Munich Olympic Stadium (BBC) Bollywood Film Awards BBC, a number of Bollywood Films (filmed on location in India), and regular appearances on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast working with designer Wayne Hemingway.

Since moving to the Isle of Wight in 2005 Katy has worked on Arts Council funded projects, was the Performing Arts lead at the Isle of Wight College for seven years, and Director of Performance at New Carnival CIC, working on national research projects in inclusivity within the arts.

As a result of her work in education, she was awarded an Education Award for ‘unleashing potential’.
